As time passes, in fact today, it is now 250 hectares of organic & beautiful Nature grounds in one of The Netherlands national reserves full of… Jersey cows! Both with different minds, Arjen the “dreamer” and Peter the “thinker”, they wanted to make organic ice cream, but nothing but the best, otherwise as they say, “it doesn’t matter…" So ever since, Happy Mrs Jersey relies on solid values, the best ingredients and innovative flavours. Taste is what conquers people, but then OH! it’s organic too, and always under sustainable values. Here in Goeree Overflakkee, we strive to keep the cows 9 months along the year outside in the open green fields (organic). The Jersey cows can live up to 15 to 20 years, so there is a true slow living spirit here, no rush for fast mass production, sloooooow… The fact that the cows are kept on average 9 months in open fields, allows the youngest to be kept together with their procreators, not generating stress and disturbs from being kept apart. There are zoonotic diseases which result from our broken relationship with animals. Goeree Overflakkee, a natural reserve in The Netherlands, we strive to keep the cows 9 months along the year outside in the open green fields (organic). Two milk farms supply the milk used for the ice cream production exclusively. Organic production and ingredients. We use Rainforest Alliance certified cocoa. Our packaging is biodegradable and FSC certified.
